In a late-night twist of events, a routine traffic stop led to the recovery of a stolen vehicle in Four Oaks. At approximately 12:17 AM on September 14th, a Johnston County deputy noticed a black 2001 Chevy Silverado with an obscured license plate on US 301. The vehicle’s driver, initially attempting to evade law enforcement, pulled over in a nearby parking lot after a brief pursuit. Investigation revealed the truck was reported stolen in Sampson County. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Joshua Cameron Gross from Goldsboro, was arrested and charged with felony possession of a stolen motor vehicle. Gross is currently held at the Johnston County Detention Center on a $10,000 secured bond.
