In a tragic incident this weekend, a man was fatally shot at a barbershop in Clinton. The violence erupted around midday Saturday at the local establishment on Beaman Street. The victim, identified as 37-year-old Joseph Melvin from Roseboro, was transported by a private vehicle to Sampson Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities later located a suspect, 31-year-old Tevin Bryant, along with 36-year-old Meredith Odum in a vehicle on Bridge Road. Both were taken in for questioning. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation, though it appears to have escalated from an argument. Clinton Police are continuing their inquiries and have urged anyone with information to come forward to assist with the case.
