A concrete mixer truck toppled over this Monday on NC 96 near the NC 42 intersection, fortunately averting traffic complications as this section was already closed for roundabout construction. The mishap, caused by the unstable, water-soaked shoulder, resulted in significant damage to the vehicle, yet, thankfully, the driver emerged unscathed. Emergency teams from Northside Fire Department alongside the North Carolina State Highway Patrol were on scene to manage the situation. Authorities remind drivers to remain cautious around construction zones and adhere to posted signs to avoid further incidents. The road will remain closed until construction is complete.
