In a tragic event Saturday night on Minnie Hall Road at Dunn Road near Salemburg, reckless driving led to a devastating two-car collision. Authorities report that 19-year-old Daniel Velazquez of Clinton, driving a 2012 Chevy Tahoe, ran a stop sign and collided with a 2009 Honda driven by 62-year-old Anthony Williams of Autryville. The crash caused the Tahoe to veer off the road, flipping multiple times and tragically ejecting 19-year-old Esmeralda Salas of Autryville, who died at the scene. Velazquez sustained minor injuries, while Williams was severely injured and airlifted to WakeMed. Officials confirmed that alcohol was not involved in the accident.
