In Johnston County, a serious accident on Interstate 40 disrupted traffic when a passenger car and an SUV collided near the Meadow community. The incident, which occurred at approximately 5:40 PM Sunday, led to the passenger car being found down an embankment. First responders from Johnston County EMS, Meadow Fire, and Newton Grove Fire departments swiftly arrived at the scene. Two individuals from the car were urgently taken to local hospitals for treatment. The State Highway Patrol is investigating.
