On January 7th at approximately 7:55am, Harnett County Detention Center officers located a female inmate unresponsive in her cell. Medical staff inside the facility were notified and responded to the female pod. Emergency medical personnel responded and pronounced the individual deceased. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation was requested to investigate. The investigation is ongoing.
