Bridge Gives Way Plunging Fire Truck In Creek

In a early morning incident on January 21, a bridge collapse in Broadway involved fire engine 2701, which plunged into a creek during a response to a nearby structure fire. The bridge, reportedly privately owned, gave way around 4:30 a.m. as the vehicle was en route to the scene. Miraculously, all four crew members on board managed to escape unharmed. A subsequent fire unit reached the fire site, deploying hoses over a distance of about 500 feet to successfully extinguish the blaze.
