In Johnston County, authorities are investigating an afternoon shooting that left a 28-year-old man injured. Deputies responded to Penwood Road in the Willow Spring community around 1:31 PM on Saturday. The victim, a resident of Garner, suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
