A South Carolina Motorist And Her Child Were Targeted In A Car Break-in In Johnston County

A chaotic scene unfolded at the Interstate 95 Rest Area near Selma when a South Carolina motorist and her child were targeted in a car break-in. Johnston County Sheriff’s deputies say Mourice Nathaniel Wilder, 35, allegedly broke into the victim’s vehicle on April 18. As officers questioned him, Wilder fled on foot, sprinting across busy interstate lanes and narrowly escaping injury. Deputies chased him down and placed him under arrest. Wilder faces multiple charges, including breaking and entering, resisting arrest, assault on a government official, and trespassing. Authorities confirmed no belongings were taken, and bail was set at $15,000.
