Arrested For Bank Fraud
In a recent development, authorities have apprehended Bryant Simpson, 55, of Clayton, on felony charges related to bank fraud. Simpson allegedly deposited three fraudulent checks into a State Employee’s Credit Union account on October 2 and 3, 2024. The checks, totaling over $7,000, were followed by numerous withdrawals and purchases made using the account. The four felony charges include uttering forged instruments and obtaining property by false pretense. The arrest, executed on February 23, 2025, resulted from a thorough investigation by the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office.
