Brinson Sentenced To Life In Prison
In Johnston County, David Alan Brinson has been convicted of first-degree murder and sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. The incident, which occurred on June 1, 2020, involved the fatal stabbing of 54-year-old Karen Barney. The court heard testimonies, including from Brinson’s ex-wife who detailed a long history of violence. Barney, a mother and grandmother, was found deceased by her sister. Assistant District Attorneys Paul Jackson and Lindsey Patterson led the prosecution, highlighting Brinson’s prior convictions which added weight to the case against him.
