In Johnston County early Thursday, a tragic accident claimed the life of 29-year-old Benjamin Foster Davis. The incident occurred on Interstate 40 near the 324 mile marker at about 4:07 AM. Davis was driving a Ford F-250 when his vehicle veered off the road, collided with a guardrail, and overturned. He was ejected from the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash but have indicated that alcohol does not appear to be involved.
