On July 24, 2024 Harnett County Deputies responded to an address on Concord Lane in reference to a reported gunshot victim. Deputies found Malik O’Brian Wilson age 22 with a gunshot wound to his thigh. Detectives speaking with witnesses learned that Wilson was shot by Jalen Xavier Owens, age 21 of 1075 Coachman Way Sanford, NC after the two men had an altercation over money. Detectives obtained a warrant for arrest on Owens for one count of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury. On July 25, 2024 Owens was arrested at this home and was held in the Harnett County Detention Center on a $5,000 secured bond. Wilson was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and then released on July 25, 2024.
