In a dramatic scene in Johnston County, Wilson’s Mills police responded to a high-speed chase that concluded with a crash late Saturday. Around 9:25 p.m., an officer attempted to pull over a red pickup after noticing it tailgating. When the driver accelerated on U.S. 70, speeds soared over 105 mph. The pursuit, stretching 1.5 miles, ended abruptly as the truck careened out of control at Swift Creek Road. Despite suffering minor injuries, the suspect exited the vehicle combatively. The officer, engaged in a physical struggle, ultimately subdued the individual. Charges including felony flee to elude are anticipated.
