High-Speed Chase Ends With Car Crashing Into House

In a startling incident in Johnston County, a high-speed chase culminated with a vehicle crashing into a historic home. The pursuit began when Wilson’s Mills Police attempted to stop a driver on Highway 70, leading to speeds exceeding 110 mph. The driver, identified as Alan Garcia from Princeton, lost control and crashed into an unoccupied residence on Creech’s Mill Road in Smithfield. The homeowner, George Bell, expressed relief that no one was harmed, noting that the house, dating back to 1900, might now face demolition. Garcia sustained injuries and was transported to WakeMed, facing charges including fleeing to elude and reckless driving.
