A dramatic police pursuit in Selma Sunday afternoon ended in a violent head-on crash on US Highway 70 near Buffalo Road. Selma Police attempted to stop a tan Buick flagged by a license plate scanner, but the driver sped away, leading officers on a chase, then entered the eastbound lanes heading west. Police pulled back for safety, but the suspect soon collided with another vehicle. The armed suspect was apprehended after the crash, and both a police officer and the suspect were hospitalized. Two additional victims, including a seriously injured passenger, were transported to WakeMed. Authorities have not yet released any names.
