Late Friday night, a 16-year-old, Cohen Josef Quigley, lost his life in a car crash on Hockaday Road near Four Oaks. The incident followed a high-speed chase initiated by a North Carolina State Highway Patrol trooper, who spotted Quigley speeding on Interstate 40 in Johnston County. Despite attempts to pull over, Quigley accelerated, leading the chase onto US-301 and later Baker Street. The pursuit ended shortly before Quigley’s vehicle veered off the road and struck a tree, leading to fatal consequences. Authorities confirmed that Quigley was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
