Holiday Booze It & Lose It Underway

In North Carolina, the “Holiday Booze It & Lose It” campaign is ramping up efforts through January 5th to prevent impaired driving. With a stark enforcement of sobriety checkpoints and increased patrols across all 100 counties, the initiative aims to reduce the dangerous trend witnessed last year, where over 12,000 vehicle crashes involved impaired drivers, tragically leading to 394 fatalities. The campaign kickoff at Wake Med’s Raleigh campus drew attention with speeches from healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and elected officials—all underscoring the critical message that impaired driving is a risk not worth taking.
