John Prine’s Legacy Supports Communities Devastated by Helene

The You Got Gold event, a celebration of the music and legacy of John Prine, will take place October 9-12 this year. However, in light of the recent devastation caused by Hurricane Helene, the event will have a new focus.

Supporting Communities in Need:

All proceeds and donations from You Got Gold will be directed towards disaster relief efforts, particularly in areas heavily impacted by Hurricane Helene. These include:

East Tennessee

Western North Carolina

Gulfport, Florida

The Hello In There Foundation, established by the Prine family, will vet grant applications from local and regional organizations actively assisting communities affected by the storm.

Fiona Prine Reflects on the Change

“We have been absolutely gutted to see the impact of Helene across the Southeast,” says Fiona Prine. “While the full impact of Helene is still being uncovered, our hearts are with everyone affected by this disaster.”

This change in focus honors John Prine’s spirit of compassion and his dedication to helping those in need.

How You Can Help

Fans and supporters can contribute to the relief efforts in several ways:

Make a Donation: Visit the Hello In There Foundation website (https://www.thehellointherefoundation.org/) to donate. All donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar through October 8.

Purchase Tickets: Limited tickets are still available for the Ryman Auditorium show on October 9.

Spread Awareness: Share information about You Got Gold and the relief efforts on social media.
