Johnston County Elementary School Teacher Facing Criminal Charges

A Johnston County elementary school teacher is now facing criminal charges after bringing a handgun onto school property. Authorities say Heather Christina Fair, a third grade teacher with two decades of experience, brought her personal firearm to Wilson’s Mills Elementary on Tuesday. Fair stated she accidentally packed the loaded Glock handgun while rushing for work, later discovering it during a meeting inside the school. She immediately reported the incident to her supervisors, who contacted police. Fair, 51, turned herself in and was charged with felony possession of a weapon on educational property and misdemeanor concealed weapon possession. She has been released on bond.
