A Johnston County man faces four felony charges after authorities say he stole a firearm from an acquaintance. Deputies report that Jonathan Dwayne Barefoot, 34, of Dunn, was arrested on April 15 in connection with the theft of a Remington shotgun, valued at $400, from a residence on Harper House Road in the Bentonville community. The incident was first reported on April 2. Investigators say Barefoot later returned the firearm to its owner and admitted to the theft. Charges against him include breaking and entering, larceny, larceny of a firearm, and possession of a firearm by a felon. His bond was set at $40,000 secured.
