The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Kenly woman after she allegedly self-reported a sex crime involving a juvenile victim. Crystal Darlene Benson of Glendale Road was arrested November 6 after she contacted officers. The 32 year-old woman allegedly live-streamed the sex act over the internet then notified authorities. Benson was charged with first degree statutory sex offense, first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor, and second degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Benson was employed as a daycare worker, however the victim and alleged criminal act has no connection with the daycare.
