Man Accused of Shoplifting
In a recent incident at a Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Johnston County, 65-year-old David Dwayne Davis from Cameron has been apprehended for attempting to steal over $1,000 worth of merchandise. The incident, which occurred shortly before noon on October 8, involved Davis placing vinyl siding, a set of padlocks, and painter’s tape into a shopping cart and exiting the store without payment. Charged with felony larceny and misdemeanor second-degree trespassing, Davis was detained on a $20,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center. Authorities successfully recovered the stolen items and returned them to the store.
