In Johnston County, deputies swiftly responded to a stolen property report, resulting in the arrest of 33-year-old Benjamin Hunter Evans. The incident unfolded on March 1 when a 78-year-old man reported that his utility trailer had been taken from his yard, along with damage to his wood fence. Deputies discovered the stolen trailer a short distance away on Brogden Road. Evans attempted to flee through the back door but was captured after a brief chase. He now faces charges of felony larceny, possession of stolen property, and injury to personal property, with a bond set at $30,000.
