On 11/03/2024 at approximately 4:47pm Johnston County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to the address of 13569 NC Hwy 39, Zebulon NC in reference to a shooting investigation. Upon the arrival of deputies it was discovered one adult white male was deceased due to an apparent gunshot wound. Investigators determined there had been a confrontation between the deceased male and the store clerk resulting in the death. The store clerk in addition to other individuals present at the time of the confrontation were interviewed. The case remains under investigation while detectives consult with the District Attorney’s Office. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
