Felony charges have been filed against two individuals after a narcotics raid at 301 East Holmes Street within Benson. The Johnston County Sheriff’s Office reports finding suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia inside the home, situated just four blocks from Benson Town Hall. Authorities say marijuana was discovered in a child’s bedroom closet. Two children living at the residence were at school when the search occurred. The home’s hazardous and unsanitary conditions — including pet waste and exposed wiring — prompted both building inspectors and social services to get involved. The residence has since been condemned by county authorities.
