Resident Fires Multiple Shots At An Individual Attempting To Break Into A Vehicle

Authorities in Johnston County are investigating after a resident reportedly fired multiple shots at an individual attempting to break into a vehicle. The incident occurred just after 1 a.m. Tuesday on Plainview Pointe Drive, near Plainview Church Road. According to law enforcement, the homeowner observed an unknown person trying to get into his car and discharged at least six rounds from a handgun. The suspect fled the scene before deputies could arrive. Investigators found no evidence that anyone was injured by the gunfire. The Sheriff’s Office continues to search for the suspect and is urging anyone with information to come forward.
