A Johnston County school bus carrying nine middle school students was struck by an SUV Monday at the intersection of NC Highway 50 North and Sanders Road. The students, en route to McGee’s Middle School on Bus 684, as well as the bus driver, escaped without injury. Details about the SUV driver or any possible passengers have not yet been released. The State Highway Patrol is investigating the cause of the collision and further information is expected as authorities continue to review the incident. School officials assure families that all students involved are safe and accounted for.
