A tragic scene unfolded Saturday on Amelia Church Road in Clayton, where a motorcyclist lost his life following a collision involving two vehicles. Authorities say Alex Kenneth Arble, 31, struck the rear of a Jeep Cherokee before being thrown into southbound traffic, where he was hit by a second vehicle. Attempts by bystanders to revive Arble were unsuccessful. As police responded to the accident, a Clayton officer was injured in a separate crash at Amelia Church Road and Veterans Parkway and transported to Johnston Medical Center. Investigations into both incidents are ongoing, with no charges filed so far.
