Woman Charge with Involuntary Manslaughter and Negligence of 22 Month Old
On April 9th, 2023 the Harnett County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence located at 32 Bear Ln. Dunn, North Carolina in regards to an unresponsive 22-month-old child with CPR in progress. EMS arrived at this location and transported the child (identified as B.M.H) to a local hospital for further treatment. Investigators were notified and responded to the hospital and residence to conduct an investigation into the matter. During this time, it was discovered that B.M.H. was in the custody and care of her mother, Jasmine Zhane Snead.
On April 14th, 2023 B.M.H. died at a local hospital. An autopsy and toxicology screening were conducted in order to determine a cause of death for B.M.H. On November 8, 2024 the autopsy and toxicology reports were received and it was determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner that the cause of death was due to Methamphetamine Toxicity. On November 12, 2024 warrants were obtained on Jasmine Zhane Snead for the following charges:
- Involuntary Manslaughter
- Negligence Child Abuse with Serious Bodily Injury
On November 19, 2024 Jasmine Zhane Snead was arrested and served on this outstanding warrant for arrest. Jasmine Snead received a secured bond of $500,000 and a first appearance in Harnett County District Court on this date.
