In Smithfield, a recent breakthrough in a robbery investigation has led to an arrest. Brandon Keith Sims, a 32-year-old resident of Four Oaks, was apprehended on charges of felony robbery with a dangerous weapon. Authorities say that in the early hours of July 6, Sims entered the Comfort Inn on S. Equity Drive, wielding a knife and making off with cash from the register. Fortunately, the night clerk on duty during the incident was unharmed. Sims is currently held on a $60,000 secured bond at the Johnston County Detention Center.
