In Johnston County, a serious incident has resulted in felony charges against 45-year-old Jonathan Pierce Phelps of Apex. Accused of assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, Phelps was arrested on October 9 after deputies investigated a stabbing that occurred last month. The altercation, which took place on September 20 at a residence in Angier, reportedly escalated from a verbal dispute to physical violence when Phelps allegedly stabbed a 35-year-old man in the shoulder with a knife. The victim, who was acquainted with Phelps, received hospital treatment and has since been released. The case continues to develop as legal proceedings against Phelps move forward.
