Surles Convicted of First Degree Murder

In a recent court ruling in Johnston County, Daniel Antonio Surles was convicted of first-degree murder and several other charges in connection with the 2021 shooting death of Michael Boyle Jr. The tragic incident, which took place on US 301 in Selma, North Carolina, also involved Surles firing into Boyle’s vehicle multiple times. After extensive testimony from law enforcement and forensic experts, the jury delivered a unanimous verdict. Superior Court Judge Paul Holcombe sentenced Surles to life imprisonment without parole, providing a somber conclusion to a case that has gripped the community since last year.
