A tragic accident in Dunn on Thursday evening left one person dead and another injured. Emergency crews responded to the scene on Jonesboro Road near Hodges Chapel Road shortly after 7 p.m. Upon arrival, they found a Ford Escape in a ditch, having collided with a construction pickup truck. Rescue teams worked to extract the driver of the Ford, who was pinned inside the vehicle. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck was transported to the hospital, and his condition remains unknown. The Harnett County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the crash. The identity of the deceased woman has not yet been released.
